Arrest order for 98 Moulvibazar BNP men
A Moulvibazar court today issued arrest warrants against 98 BNP leaders and activists including its district unit president in a case filed for assaulting police.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kazi Bahar Uddin Nasim passed the order, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports quoting Md Abdul Hay, an inspector of the court.
M Naser Rahman, BNP’s Moulvibazar president; its joint secretary Abdul; and Juba Dal central assistant organising secretary Md Motin Box are among the accused.
Police filed the case against 130 identified BNP leaders and 250 unknown others on charge of assaulting police in Moulvibazar Sadar upazila on January 6 this year, said Abdus Salek, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station.
On January 5, a clash ensued as police obstructed a procession brought out by BNP men and its student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s activists in favour of their various demands in the town.
The clash left 40 people injured.
