Papon mulls wholesale changes
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon has hinted at significant changes in the team after the ICC World Twenty20.
"If you ask for something after the tournament, then I think it will be huge changes to the team. We will do whatever is needed. We must bring in new players. We don't want to upset anybody by saying this. The tournament is now going on and we hope all play as per their potential. They can play good cricket and I hope we play good matches," said Papon yesterday.
All these comments came after Bangladesh put up yet another poor show. The frustration was all around not because the Tigers suffered a heavy defeat, but the manner they surrendered to the West Indies in their first Super 10s match on Tuesday.
He also felt the need for thinking differently regarding shaping the T20 team.
"I told before the tournament that we have to think differently about this format of the sport. We must hire a specialist T20 coach if needed. T20 is a different type of game. We are playing the same set of players in all three formats," said Papon.
