SM Mahfuzur Rahman has recently been appointed chairman of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh, the organisation said in a statement yesterday.
Prior to joining the new post, Rahman was a director of Rupali Bank.
He joined Dhaka University's finance department in 1984 and later became the chairman of the department for 1994-97 as a professor.
Rahman completed his post graduation in economics and planning from People's Friendship University in Moscow in 1979 and achieved a PhD degree in development economics from the Institute of Oriental Studies in Moscow in 1983.
