Demands to be fulfilled soon
Law Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed yesterday assured the judges, magistrates and lawyers of fulfilling their demands, including shortage of courtrooms, as early as possible.
Barrister Shafique said this while he was speaking at a view exchange meeting with judges, magistrates and lawyers at the Judges' Conference Room in the city.
State Minister for Law Advocate Qamrul Islam, Law Secretary Anwarul Haque and chief engineer of Power Works Development (PWD) and several government high officials were present at the meeting.
Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Jahangir Hossain placed the demands at the meeting.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Zohurul Hoque said due to loadshedding judges, magistrates and lawyers wearing black dresses can not take part in the trials of the cases. Moreover, judges and magistrates can not reach their residences in time due to lack of vehicles.
Dhaka Bar Association President Sanaullah Miah said most of the lawyers and litigants could not appear before the courts in time due to lack of lifts. Moreover, most of the time, loadshedding causes a great difficulties in performing their duties, he added.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Enamul Haque, acting Chief Judicial Magistrate Shahjahan Kabir and most of the judges and magistrates were present at the meeting.
Barrister Shafique said all the demands like shortage of judges and magistrates, courtrooms, lifts and others problems will be fulfilled as early as possible.
