FFs demand trial of war criminals

Freedom fighters formed a human chain in Chittagong yesterday demanding immediate trial of war criminals.
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad, Chittagong Sadar unit Command, organised the programme in front of Chittagong Press Club where it also held a rally.
Speaking at the rally, the freedom fighters urged the government to accelerate the trial process of the war criminals who unleashed brutality such as arson attack, rape and genocide during the Liberation War.
As the people from all walks of life are now united in the demand for the trial and it is one of the electoral pledges of the ruling Awami League, the government should complete the trial as soon as possible, they said.
Former minister and AL lawmaker from Mirsarai constituency Engineer Mosharraf Hossain was the chief guest at the rally presided over by the Chittogong unit Convenor Mohammad Shahabuddin.
Freedom fighters Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Anwarul Azim, Tofael Ahmed, AKM Sarwar Kamal Dulu, SM Mortuza Hossain, Jamal Ullah, MA Mansur, Advocate Mohammad Ali, Tazul Islam, Prof Shawkat Hossain and Mohammad Yusuf spoke at the rally.
