Shammo murder: DMP chief pledges to end probe within a week
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali pledged to complete the investigation into the murder of Dhaka University student Shahriar Alam Shammo within a week and send the case to a special tribunal to ensure the highest punishment for the perpetrators.
The DMP chief made the announcement while talking to reporters at the VC lounge of Dhaka University following a meeting with DU authority.

DU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan was also present.
"We aim to complete the steps within seven days. We will provide a full briefing... We are fully committed. We have made significant progress, however, due to the ongoing investigation, we cannot disclose all details at this time," the DMP chief said.
Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner Masud Alam at the press conference said three suspects were detained.
He said the investigation is being conducted from all possible angles. "We are also reviewing CCTV footage from different locations..."
