Man held over making fake NIDs

Police yesterday arrested one Zia Uddin (32) for making and selling fake National ID cards, birth registrations, and character certificates from the port city's Jalalabad.

The arrestee is the owner of Bakhtiar Traders, a computer composing shop at Zila Parishad Residential area.

OC Md Kamruzzaman of Beyezid Bostami Police Station said, "Sazzad Hossain, personal assistant of ward councillor Sahed Iqbal Babu, caught Zia while he was preparing the fake documents at his shop and informed police." A case was filed.
