Man dies after bicycle hit by vehicle in Dhaka’s Badda

A man was dead after an unidentified vehicle hit his bicycle in Dhaka's Badda area early today.

The deceased was identified as Ilias Dhali (50), a driver working for a private company.

Harun-or-Rashid, sub-inspector of Badda Police Station, said the accident occurred around 11:30pm last night. 

Ilias sustained critical injuries when an unidentified vehicle hit the bike from behind.

Some rickshaw pullers first took him to a nearby private hospital but he was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 3:00am, he said.

The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Hailing from Barishal, Ilias used to live near Altafunnesa School in Badda with his family.

Police are trying to identify the vehicle.
