Websites including BBC, CNN, Amazon begin to recover from major outage
Multiple news and commerce websites were reportedly down in a massive outage early Tuesday. Affected websites included The New York Times, CNN, BBC, The Guardian and Amazon. Paypal, Spotify and Reddit were also reportedly facing problems. Users accessing these sites were being redirected to an error page that reads "Error 503 Service Unavailable." Although some websites are now starting to recover.
Reports suggest that the outage could be linked to Fastly, one of the world's most widely-used content delivery network providers. Fastly said, "the issue has been identified and a fix has been applied. Customers may experience increased origin load as global services return."
