Sheikh Mohammad Fayiz Ullah Shipon has been nominated as the Jatiya Party candidate to contest Lakshmipur-2 by-election.

He is an executive member of the party's central committee and a businessman by occupation. He was elected VP of Raipur Government College in 1995.

The nomination was finalised yesterday during a meeting of the nomination board chaired by GM Quader at the party's Banani office in Dhaka.

Others present at the meeting were JP Secretary General Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, Co-chairman Advocate Salma Islam MP, presidium member and Chattogram divisional additional general secretary Advocate Rezaul Islam.
