'The Rise of Dreams' to be held online tomorrow

The Rise of Dreams, a classical kathak and sarod jugalbandhi, will be held online tomorrow at 9:30 am, on the YouTube and Facebook pages of the performers. Based on Ustad Alauddin Khan's take on raag Manj Khamaj, renowned dancer Ananya Wafi Rahman will perform on noted sarod player Tanim Hayat Khan's piece, with Sanjib Mazumder on tabla.  The dancer will join this collaboration from Australia, whereas, the musicians will support her from Bangladesh. Aziz Farah will also be present at the dance recital as the mix master.

This performance, conceptualised by Ananya Wafi Rahman, is themed on the present condition where the performers proclaimed hope for their audience, stating that the world will get back to normal-- the nature will heal and humankind will be able to regain their freedom.

Wafi Rahman Ananna

Ananya Wafi Rahman pursued her dance training under the guidance of dance maestros Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee Uma Sharma and dance guru Sikha Khare. She also received the  ICCR scholarship and has completed her post diploma on Kathak from Sriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, Delhi. The dancer also works as a dance teacher and choreographer.

Tanim Hayat Khan, the grandson of Ustad Ayet Ali Khan, was blessed with the tutelage of his grandfather. He also had the privilege of working closely with Rabindranath Tagore. Hailing from a family of artistes, his father noted musicologist Mobarak Hossain Khan and mother renowned singer Fauzia Yasmin also contributed to his upbringing and strengthen his root in music.
