The Daily Star staff photographer Rajib Raihan's photo was among the eight pictures shortlisted for Wisden-MCC Photograph of the year.

The Wisden-MCC photograph of the year, launched in 2010, is a contest  open to all photographers, amateur or professional, from across the world. It remains free to enter, with the only stipulation that entries must have a cricketing theme and have been taken during that particular calendar year.

The Daily Star's photographer Rajib Raihan's picture, clicked on December 23 in 2019, showing three youths playing a game of cricket in one of the few spots in a field not covered by drying fishing nets at Fishery Ghat in Chattogram, was among the eight pictures shortlisted for the prestigious award.

Yesterday, The Guardian, a British Daily, also published all the shortlisted and the award winning photos of Wisden in this year with Rajib's photo as the lead for the section named 'Catches, tea and nets: Wisden–MCC Photograph of the Year'.
