HSC Results: Madrasa board boasts highest success
While the overall pass rate in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations has declined, the results of Madrasa Education Board have seen a boost.
The board has topped the list of 10 education boards with a pass rate of 78.67 percent, an improvement on last year's 77.02 percent.
Although the number of examinees under the board increased this year, the number of GPA-5 scorers declined by 571 compared to the previous year.
A total of 97,793 students -- 54,770 boys and 43,023 girls -- took the Alim examinations this year. Of them, 1,244 obtained the highest grade point average (GPA) of 5.
Like in HSC exams, the pass rate of female students was better than their male counterparts. The pass rate of female students stands at 79.09 percent, against that of 78.34 percent of the male students.
However, male students (864) are ahead of females (380) in terms of GPA-5 this year.
Of the total 2,699 madrasas, 288 achieved 100 percent success rate, while 13 have zero pass rate.
TECHNICAL EDUCATION BOARD
The pass rate of Technical Education Board dropped to 75.50 percent from last year's 81.33 percent. In has also seen decrease in the number of examinees and GPA-5 achievers.
Out of 1.18 lakh examinees, 89,089 -- 60,923 males and 28,166 females -- have become successful. Of them, 2,456 achieved GPA-5. Last year, the number was 2,669.
In terms of GPA-5, male students lagged far behind the female students. Some 1,523 girls got the highest grade while 933 boys secured GPA-5.
