Police recovered the body of a housewife hanging from a tree at Rajapur village in Jashore Sadar upazila on Saturday night.

The deceased, Ferdousi Begum, 24, was wife of Mazharul Islam of the village.

Deceased's brother Asaduzzaman said Ferdousi was killed by her husband as Mazharul often used to torture her for dowry since their marriage.

Asaduzzaman said he went to his sister's house and found her hanging from a tree.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.
