Let's catch the corrupt
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood yesterday called upon people for collective efforts to free the country from corruption.
“The corrupt are cunning. Sometimes they're stronger and influential too. It is not possible for the Anti-Corruption Commission with its 1,073 manpower to catch them,” he said.
Iqbal said, “If all political, social and other organisations are united, corruption will be checked and development will continue to go on.”
He was inaugurating “Corruption Prevention Week 2018” at ACC's Media Centre in the capital, says a release. The slogan of the week is “If corruption stops, development will get momentum.”
“Bangladesh has made much progress economically, graduating to a developing country. To make the economic development sustainable, we'll have to stop corruption collectively,” said Iqbal.
