Two held for 'killing' youth

Police yesterday arrested two youths in connection with the murder of a youth in Sadarghat area of Chittagong on Friday night.

The arrestees are Md Miraj, 22, and Md Rony, 22, said Nejam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat Police Station.

“During primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted that five youths were involved in the murder. It took place over a feud centring a cricket match around one-and-a-half months ago,” said the OC.

The deceased, Md Ibrahim, 19, son of Jasim Uddin, a resident of the area, was stabbed in front of “Jui Community Centre” around 9:00pm. He was declared dead at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
