UHH arranges medical camp on the occasion of Independence Day
As a part of the campaign for building a healthy nation, UHH organised a daylong free medical camp on March 24, 2017, at Kamlapur village of Hariram upazila in Manikganj district.
On that day, students from University of Dhaka, BUET, DMC, NSU, BRAC, BUP, EWU, ULAB, IIU, BUFT, DIU, Stamford, NUB and National University worked as volunteers.
The former chairman of Azimnagar union Ali Akbar Khan, Chairman of Dhulshura union Zayed Khan, Managing Director of Sweety Products Awlad Hossen Khan, Deputy Director of Debonair Group Ltd. Azam Khan and Director of Debonair Group Ltd. Naiara Noor Nipa were present on this campaign. A group of 10 BCS health cadre doctors provided prescriptions to around 1000 patients from 10 am to 5 pm totally free of cost and UHH distributed all necessary prescribed medicines among the people.
Former Head of the Department of Cardiology at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dr. HI Lutfar Rahman praised the initiative taken by the youth. The Deputy Director of Debonair Group Ltd., Azam Khan said that the underprivileged would be highly benefited by the free medical campaign held by UHH.
"We will try our best from our respective sides to fulfil the goal of UHH to provide free treatment to around 50000 people in the five years of reaching the golden jubilee of our independence," said Dr. Shahneaz, Assistant Surgeon of Sirajdi Khan Hospital. President of UHH, Md. Mujahidul Islam expressed his wholehearted gratitude to all the doctors, volunteers and the guests for their participation and cooperation and also requested them to continue such activities in future. He also sought cooperation from people to stand beside UHH for any kind of initiative taken to assist the deprived people.
