Seven-day ultimatum to repair roads

Lalmonirhat transport leaders yesterday threatened to go for a tougher movement if the authorities concerned do not take any steps to repair all the damaged roads in the district in the next seven days.

Most of the roads in the district have been in awful condition for long, causing immense suffering to the users.

General Secretary of District Bus-Minibus Sramik Union Bulbul Ahmed gave the seven-day ultimatum at a road blockade programme in the district town.

Transport owners and workers blocked Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway for about four hours from 10:00am, demanding repair of the highway and other connecting roads at Mission Intersection in the town.
