BGB, BSF five-day conference starts in capital
With an aim to reduce the border killings to zero, a director general-level talk between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) starts today in the capital.
A 21-member delegation of the Indian side led by BSF Director General KK Sharma reached Dhaka yesterday to attend the meeting, says a BGB press release.
BGB Director General Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed will lead a 23-member delegation of the Bangladesh side, it adds.
During the conference, both will discuss issues like killing of innocent Bangladeshis, illegal trespassing, smuggling of narcotics, firearms and explosives, and human trafficking, among others.
The five-day conference is going to be held at the BGB's headquarters in Pilkhana with signing of a Joint Record of Discussions (JDR).
