Ensure proper benefits in 8th wage board or face movement

Journalist leaders yesterday said they will launch  movement if proper facilities are not ensured for journalists and employees of newspapers and news agencies under the 8th Wage Board to be announced soon.
They were speaking at a meeting organised by the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) marking Journalists Torture Day at Jatiya Press Club in the capital.
They said the price hike of last five years and possible price hike of next five years has to be considered in the wage-board.
With DUJ President Omar Faruk in the chair, BFUJ Secretary General Abdul Jalil Bhuyian, DUJ General Secretary Shaban Mahmud and its leaders Saiful Islam Talukder, Kartik Chaterjee and Tarun Tapan Chakrabartialso spoke.
