Ctg landphone subscribers suffer due to bad lines
More than one lakh telephone subscribers of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd (BTCL) in Chittagong city have been suffering due to technical faults in the landline connection.
However, the authorities concerned have not taken any steps despite being repeatedly informed of the problem, said BTCL sources.
Around 12,000 subscribers in Muradpur zone, out of six zones of BTCL, have been facing problems regularly due to faulty landline connections, they added.
Omar Faruk, a businessman, said his landline has been dead for the last two months hampering his business activities. “I have complained to BTCL several times but nothing has been done to solve the problem,” he said.
The scenario is almost the same in the remaining zones.
Contacted, Abdul Karim, divisional engineer of BTCL, Chittagong acknowledged the problem and said it began when three routes for landline communication were merged into a single route.
Tamal Kanti Nandi, general manager of BTCL, Chittagong region said they are looking into the matter.
