Fahad 3rd in Rapid Chess

National junior champion Fahad Rahman clinched bronze medal in the Rapid Chess of the 14th ASEAN Under-10 Chess Championships held in Chiang Mai, Thailand on Friday.
Fahad was placed second jointly with Quizon Daniel of Philippines earning 5.5 points from seven matches but lost in the tie-breaker to finish third, according to a message from the Bangladesh Chess Federation yesterday.
Ngo Doc Tri of Vietnam clinched the gold medal securing 7 points.
In the U-10 Blitz Chess Championship, Fahad was in sixth position with six points from nine matches.
