Over 150 BNP men sued for Ctg clash

Police have sued at least 150 BNP leaders and activists in connection with Tuesday's clash in front of Nasimon Bhaban in Chittagong city.

Kamruzzaman (full name was not known), a sub-inspector of Chittagong Kotwali Police Station, filed the case Tuesday night on charge of preventing police from discharging their duties, blasting crude bombs and creating panic among the locals, reports our Chittagong correspondent.

Police mentioned the names of 12 leaders and activists including BNP city unit General Secretary Dr Shahadat Hossain in the case, SI of Kotwali Police Station Utpal Barua confirmed it to The Daily Star

Two BNP activists who were detained from the spot during the clash have been shown arrested in the case, the SI said.

BNP activists hurled four crude bombs when police tried to halt their procession from Nasimon Bhaban in support of Wednesday's hartal.

Police fired several teargas shells to disperse the BNP men.
