Safety of women at workplace

Doctors are dedicated to save our lives but who is going to save their lives? A few months ago, I was shocked to hear the news of tragic death of a female doctor, Eva. She was working at a BRAC clinic. Faysal, the caretaker of that clinic, tried to rape her. But failing to do so, he killed her.
There are many female doctors and other women who are working at different government and non-government organisations. Many of these women become victims of sexual harassment at their workplace by their male colleagues. But they remain silent. Thinking of the social stigma, they never dare to protest. The government is taking many steps to encourage women to participate in various development activities. I think, first of all, the government and the NGOs should ensure security of women at their workplaces. Otherwise, women's participation in socio-economic development activities will decrease day by day and in effect it will hinder the development of our country.
