Exhibition featuring works of Bangladeshi and Korean artists


The exhibition celebrated the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between South Korea and Bangladesh.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between South Korea and Bangladesh, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Dhaka in collaboration with the Athena Gallery of Fine Arts organised a two-day art exhibition featuring works of Bangladeshi and Korean artists and sculptors. The exhibition was held on February 15 to 16 at the residence of the Korean ambassador, at Baridhara in the capital.
Minister for Cultural Affairs, Abul Kalam Azad, was present at the opening ceremony as chief guest. At the programme, Lee Yun-young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, hoped that the exhibition would provide an opportunity for Bangladeshi people not only to experience the uniqueness and essence of Korean art but also to compare fine arts of both countries.
Bangladeshi artists Hamiduzzaman Khan, Jamal Ahmed, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Khalid Mahmood Mithu, Mahmudul Haque, Rafiqun Nabi and Rokeya Sultana participated at the exhibition.
Korean participating artists are: Ahn Sangjin, Chang Tae Young, Chun Byoung Min, Hwang Jisoo, Jang Inhee, Jang Sun, Kim Jaenam, Kim Jung Hee, Kim Kyung Hwa, Koo Youngwoong, Lee Hansu, Lee Jaemyung, Lee Seung Sook, Lee Sun Woo, Lee Sung Hyun, Park Jang Ho, Park Kyoung Min, Shin Jongshik, Yang Jeong Mu, Yeo Kangyeon and Yun Hyungsun
Distinguished guests including lawmakers, diplomats of different countries, government officials, business leaders and cultural personalities were also present at the opening ceremony.
