Stocks upbeat
The prices of most shares on the country's premier bourse clambered on Monday after 6-day holiday on occasion of Eid-ul- Fitr.
The trading and official activities of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) remained closed from August 6.
According to DSE news, trading hour from Monday will be 10:30am to 2:30pm as it reduced the trading by an hour during Ramadan.
DSEX, the benchmark general index of the DSE, rose 16 points to reach 3,916 points at the end of the day's trading.
Of the issues traded, 164 advanced, 86 declined and 22 remained unchanged.
A total of 47,448 trades were executed with Tk 162 crore changing hands.
On August 5, the trading at DSE reached 3,891 points after gaining 58 points.
