Road crashes kill 7
Seven people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in Comilla, Gazipur, and Bhola on Tuesday and yesterday.
A correspondent from Comilla reports, three people were killed and another was injured when a Dhaka-bound pickup collided head on with a Chittagong-bound lorry on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Nowtola area of Chandina upazila yesterday morning, said police.
The deceased were Md Nasiruddin, 35, of Maizpara in Munshiganj; and Mainuddin Mohin, 38, and Md Roney, 15, of Chayani in Noakhali.
The injured was admitted to Chandina Upazila Health Complex.
Meanwhile, Ali Miah, 70, of Sujanagar in the city, was killed as a battery-run auto-rickshaw knocked him in Tikkerchar of Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
Our Gazipur correspondent adds, two people were killed instantly as a truck rammed their motorbike in Rajendrapur area of Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
The victims, Fakhrul Alam, 45, and Abul Khayer Chowdhury, 40, were two employees of Nestlé Bangladesh.
Our Bhola correspondent reports, an elderly man was killed as a motorbike hit him from behind near Chatla Bazar in Lalmohan upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was Maulovi Deloar Hossain, 75.
