Two housewives were murdered allegedly by husbands in Khagrachhari and Netrakona districts on Tuesday and the day before.
A housewife was strangled allegedly by her husband in Gamaridala area under Sadar upazila of Khagrachhari district on Tuesday night, reports our correspondent.
The deceased is Sumi Begum, 20, wife of Mohammad Hamidul Islam of the same area.
Quoting family members, police said due to torture following feuds between the couple after marriage, Sumi took shelter at her father's residence two months ago. Hamidul tactfully called her out of the house at night on Tuesday, strangled her and managed to flee the scene.
In Netrakona, a housewife was strangled allegedly by her husband at Gumkanda village in Purbadhala upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Angura Begum,35, wife of one Nur Nabi, reports UNB.
Police said Nur Nabi used to torture his wife Angura over family feud.
As a sequel to that, both of them locked in a brawl on Monday night and at one stage, Nur Nabi killed Angura by strangulating.
Police later arrested Nur Nabi the same night.
