Hefajat-e Islam threatens non-stop hartal
Hefajat-e Islam on Monday threatened to enforce a non-stop hartal from April 7 if their long march is obstructed.
The Hathazari, Chittagong-based organisation announced to march towards Dhaka on April 6 demanding punishment to what it said the 'atheists' of the Shahbagh movement.
“If we are not allowed to hold a rally in Dhaka, we will paralyse the country by enforcing a non-stop hartal from April 7,” Abdul Malek, nayeb-e-ameer of the group, said while addressing a rally at Laldighi ground in Chittagong.
He said, "We will march towards Dhaka with 313 Mujahideen, who are ready to sacrifice their lives for saving Islam."
Followers of Hefajat-e Islam from distant districts will march towards the capital on April 5 night and those from districts adjacent to the capital the following day, he said.
