Court Marshal staged in Mymensingh
Ensemble Theatre, a local troupe, staged “Court Marshal” -- based on a story regarding the Liberation War -- last Saturday night.
A huge audience gathered at the Jago Mymensingh Mancho on Durgabari Road in the town, expressing solidarity with the Shahbagh protesters.
Adapted by SM Solaiman, the play was directed by Md. Abul Mansur, president of Ensemble Theatre.
The cast of the play included Asaduzzaman Sarker, Monir Hossain, Md. Asaduzzaman, Anik Banik, Enayet Kabir Khan and Abul Mansur. Mosharraf Hossain and Razib assisted the production.
Earlier, several films including “Guerrilla”, Amar Bondhu Rashed” and “Matir Moina” were screened at the venue to inform the audience on the Liberation War.
Advocate Abul Kashem; poet Anwara Sultana; secretary of Rabindra Sangeet Sammilon Parishad, Sunil Chandra Pal; S.M Ali Azhar and cultural activist Advocate Abdul Motalab Lal were present at the show, among others.
Earlier, on Friday evening, Ensemble Theatre staged “Court Marshal” at the Ganojagaran Mancha, Railway Station Krishnachura Square.
According to sources, the group will also stage the drama at Shambhuganj Bazar's Ganojagaran Mancha in sadar upazila on March 9.
Cultural activists played a major role during Liberation War in 1971 and supported the freedom fighters in many ways, said Md. Abul Mansur.
