‘Shonge Achi’ distributes Eid clothes to street children

"Shonge Achi", a voluntary and humanitarian organisation, distributed clothes to 1,000 underprivileged children living on the streets on the occasion of Eid yesterday.

The distribution drive was held in front of the capital's Viqarunnisa Noon School & College, where the children were given fresh haircuts as well, said a press release. 

Present at the event were the foundation's governing board member Kazi Azizul Islam, its president Md Joshim Uddin Khan and trustee Marzia Rahman.

Starting its journey during the pandemic, the foundation has been supporting families severely affected by the pandemic by providing them with food, clothes, healthcare and recreational activities for the children.

Over the last two years, the foundation has distributed one lakh free meals to orphanages and rehabilitation centres, along with distributing clothes to 5,000 street children.
