Lohagara accident: Aradhya being shifted to Dhaka for advanced treatment

Aradhya Biswas, a young girl critically injured in a road accident in Chattogram's Lohagara upazila on Wednesday, is being transferred from Chittagong Medical College Hospital to Square Hospital in Dhaka for further treatment.
Brig Gen Taslim Uddin, director of CMCH, confirmed the development, saying, "The authorities of Square Hospital expressed interest in taking responsibility for Aradhya's treatment."
"Aradhya will be taken to Dhaka by an ICU ambulance today," he added.
Dhiman Chowdhury, in-charge of the Paediatric ICU at CMCH, said, "The patient is still not out of danger, although her condition has improved over the past two days."
Initially, CMCH was considering transferring Aradhya to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for better medical care. However, when Square Hospital authorities approached CMCH, offering to take full responsibility for her treatment, the hospital management welcomed the initiative in the interest of Aradhya's recovery, Dhiman said.
"In CMCH, many people are frequently entering the ICU to see her which poses risk of further infection . At Square Hospital, authorities can impose strict security to restrict outsiders. Her health condition may improve quickly," he added.
When contacted, Mostafa Kamal, Chattogram regional sales manager of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd, said that Tapan Chowdhury, the managing director of Square Group, had expressed his willingness to bear all expenses for Aradhya's treatment. "Accordingly, she is being moved to Dhaka and will be admitted to Square Hospital," he said.
Ten people, including Aradhya's parents, were killed and three others injured when a bus collided with a microbus at the Jangalia Majar Gate area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway on Wednesday.
