CEC to visit Russia to observe Federal Assembly elections
Chief Election Commissioner K M Nurul Huda is set to visit Russia in order to observe the Federal Assembly elections to the State Duma (lower house of the Federal Assembly).
A letter regarding the official visit was sent from the Election Commission (EC) to the chief accounts and finance officer of office of comptroller and auditor general (OCAG), Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) and Election Commissioner Secretariat yesterday.
Abul Kashem Mohammed Mazharul Islam, private secretary to the CEC, will accompany him, according to the notice.
The elections to State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation will be held from September 17-19.
The delegation will start their journey for Russia on a convenient day before September 16 and return to Dhaka on September 21, the notice also states.
"The host party will provide five nights' hotel accommodation and local hospitality for two participants while the Bangladesh Election Commission will bear the cost of international airfare and other incidental expenses," read the notice.
