Bangabandhu’s sculpture, park named after him inaugurated in Turkey’s capital
A bust of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and a park named after him were inaugurated today in Ankara, capital of Turkey.
"It's really a matter of pride and honour for the nation that a bust of Bangabandhu and a park named after him are being inaugurated today at the capital city of Turkey," said Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam, while unveiling the bust.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul, who is now visiting Turkey, said that Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are one and the same. His ideals are immortal. Therefore, the indestructible ideals of Bangabandhu will always flow from generation to generation.
"The greatest Bengali of all time, the great architect of independence, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was not only the leader of his country, he was also a great leader of the masses of the developing world," he said.
Atiqul said there is a road in Dhaka's Banani named after father of Turkey, Kemal Ataturk.
Among others, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Governor of Ankara Vaship Sahin, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Ankara and High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Turkey Mosud Mannan were present at the programme.
