Tk 11cr heist: Won't let you swallow a single taka, judge tells investigator
A Dhaka court yesterday rebuked the investigation officer for preparing a defective seizure list in the case filed over the heist of Tk 11.25 crore in Uttara on March 9.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanto Islam Mallik made the comment after Md Saju Miah, an inspector of Detective Branch of Police and the investigation officer of the case, produced eight robbers before it with a 10-day remand prayer.
The IO also submitted a seizure list before it where he showed Tk 2.54 crore in it.
At one stage, the magistrate asked the IO where he kept the rest of the Tk 6.43 crore that was recovered, according to media reports. The IO failed to give the answer.
The magistrate then expressed his dissatisfaction over anomalies in making a seizure list in the case, said advocate Gazi Hasan Mahmud, who was present at court during the remand hearing.
"I will not give you any chance to swallow a single taka seized from the robbers," said the magistrate.
The IO then told the court that he would file another seizure list before the court within a short time.
Meantime, the magistrate placed the eight robbers on five-day remands.
The arrestees are: Sanowar Hossain, 28, Emon alias Milon, 33, Badrul Alam, 33, Mizanur Rahman, 20, Sonai Mia, 28, Enamul Haque Badsha, 26, Akash Matbor, 25, and Sagar Matbor, 22.
