Man killed, 2 others injured in feud over 'extortion'
A man was stabbed to death and two others were injured in Dhaka's Jatrabari last night following a feud between two groups allegedly over collecting extortion money.
The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain, 26.
The two other injured, Md Siddique, 25, and Shahadat Hossain, whose age could not be known yet, are receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The incident took place around 11:30pm when the three, who work as linemen at a human haulieer stand, were having tea in a shop within the wholesale kitchen market at Kutubkhali area, injured Siddique told The Daily Star.
"A group of around 15 people swooped on us and stabbed us indiscriminately. Locals rescued and took us to DMCH where Imran was declared dead," he added.
Local Abdul Kuddus said a clash took place between two extortionist groups led by Al Amin and Uzzal Molla.
They stabbed whoever they found at the wholesale kitchen market, he added.
