2 OCs withdrawn in Netrakona

Two officers-in-charge (OCs) of police stations in Netrakona were withdrawn on Thursday.
According to an order signed by Netrakona Superintendent of Police (SP) Mirza Sayem Mahmud, two new officers were assigned to their positions.
The official order was issued today, Friday (March 7).
According to the office order, OC Mohammad Riad Mahmud of Purbadhala Police Station has been transferred to the Sadar Circle. Meanwhile Mohammad Nurul Alam, in-charge of Shyamganj Investigation Centre, has been appointed as the new OC of Purbadhala Police Station.
Similarly, OC Bacchu Mia of Durgapur Police Station has been transferred to the district police office as an inspector (crime). Md Mahmudul Hasan, previously an inspector (crime) at the district police office, has been appointed as the new OC of Durgapur Police Station.
Additionally, Ruhul Amin from the Sadar Circle Office has been appointed as the in-charge of the Shyamgonj Investigation Center, as per the official order.
The office order did not specify any reason over the reshuffle.
However, locals have claimed that on Thursday (March 6), an "Open House Day" event was organised by the Durgapur Police Station at the Kalikapur Government Primary School grounds in the border area of Durgapur's Sadar union.
The event was chaired by OC Mohammad Bacchu Mia of Durgapur Police Station, with SP Mirza Sayem Mahmud as the chief guest.
Ridoy Ahmed, the acting UP chairman of Sadar Union and a leader of the Jubo League, was present as a special guest on the stage.
This led to widespread discussions and criticism among local BNP leaders and activists.
Attempts to contact the OCs over the phone were unsuccessful, as they did not answer the calls.
