Attestation parade of EBR recruits held in Ctg Cantonment

The attestation parade of 58th batch recruits of the East Bengal Regiment was held on January 8 at the East Bengal Regimental Centre (EBRC) parade ground in Chittagong Cantonment.

Area Commander of Chittagong Area and GOC, 24 Infantry Division Major General Md Abdul Matin reviewed the smartly turned out parade and took salute at the impressive march past.

General Matin recalled the supreme sacrifices of the founder of East Bengal Regiment Major Ghani, pioneer General MAG Osmani and General Khwaza Wasi Uddin who fought for the independence of our country and also remembered the great heroes of this regiment who sacrificed their lives in counter insurgency operation in Chittagong Hill Districts.

He advised the new soldiers to up-hold the tradition and glory of the regiment by their hard work, perseverance, dutifulness and sincere engagement in training.

Out of total 570 recruits, GD Roman Sardar (Shaheed Hamid Company) was adjudged the best recruit and awarded with MA Ghani trophy. GD BM Shahin (Shaheed Salahuddin Company) was selected as the second best recruit, while GD Md Ziaur Rahman (Shaheed Belayet Company) was adjudged the best Firer and GD Md Abdus Sobhan (Shaheed Monir Company) was selected as the second best Firer.

On the basis of overall performances, Shaheed Salahuddin Company became champion while Osmani Company stood runner-up.

Later, General Matin congratulated the winner and distributed prizes among them.
