'Abducted' Jamaat man returns secretly, again goes into hiding!

A Jamaat-e-Islami leader, said to have been abducted by the plainclothes police from his Joypurhat residence on April 8, secretly returned to his ancestral home in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna early yesterday and went into hiding again.
Following Nazrul Islam's 'disappearance', the Jamaat raised a hue and cry claiming he was abducted. They called two hartals in the district followed by a Rajshahi division hartal demanding his release.
Family members of Nazrul, secretary of Joypurhat district unit of Jamaat, told this correspondent that he went to an unknown place for 'security reasons'.
Confirming the reappearance of the 'missing' Jamaat leader, his younger brother Md Kamruzzaman Masud said his brother came to see his mother and other family members at around 5:00am.
Superintendent of police in Joypurhat, Md Hamidul Alam, said that they were aware about the secret return of the Jamaat leader.
A team of Joypurhat police rushed to Pabna to investigate the incident, the SP said, adding that the police were trying to nab him.
When the Jamaat leader went 'missing', his wife Salma Sultana, along with the leaders of local unit of Joypurhat Jamaat at a press conference alleged that Nazrul Islam was picked up by plainclothes DB men on April 11 night from his residence in Sahebpara area under Joypurhat municipality in a white coloured microbus.
Family members also filed a general diary with Joypurhat Sadar upazila police station in this connection.
Secretary of Pabna district unit of Jamaat Abu Taleb Mondol said they came to know about the return of the 'missing' Jamaat leader.
But the party men could not make any contact with him, he said.
