8 Sylhet JCD activists arrested

SYLHET, Dec 31: Police arrested eight activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal from Electric area of the town last night.

A police official said they were arrested on charge of their alleged involvement in the armed clash with police and BDR on December 25.

A madrassah student was shot dead in BDR firing during the encounter.

The arrested are, Wahidul Islam, Nure Alam Siddiquee, Md Abdul Munim Badrul, Suman Ahmed, Imran Ahmed, Modabber Hossain, Babla Hossain alias Liton and Nahid alias Basit.
