7-member probe body formed

Police in separate drives until yesterday arrested 41 people in connection with the fire incident at Gazipur factory compound of Standard Group early Friday.
A seven-member committee led by Gazipur Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Sanjib Kumar Roy was formed yesterday to investigate the arson.
Gazipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdul Baten, at a press conference in his office yesterday told journalists that the committee would submit the probe report to the court in next 10 days as part of the judicial enquiry.
He added that Md Siddikur Rahman, administrative officer of Standard Group, had filed a case in connection with the fire incident with Joydevpur Police Station.
On November 29, some unruly workers of adjacent areas aided by outsiders stormed the factory and set fire to two buildings in the factory compound.
