42 lakh distressed families to get 10 kg foodgrains before Eid

RAMPHAL, Bagerhat, Jan 5: State Minister for Relief and Disaster Management Talukder Abdul Khaleque today said the government would distribute 10 kg foodgrains to each of the 42,10,000 distressed families under the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme, reports BSS.

The plan has been undertaken to enable members of the distressed families to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.

The minister today distributed sari, lungi and 10 kg of rice or wheat under the programme in view of the upcoming Eid festival among the distressed in Perikhali, Vojpatia, Mullikerber, Bashtoli and Baieentala of Ramphal thana.

He also distributed Taka 100 each among 45 distressed families from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

Thana Awami League general secretary Abdur Rouf, Thana Jubo League leader Nurul Haq Lipon, chairman of concerned unions and local Awami League leaders also spoke at the gatherings.
