Two women found dead in Savar

Police recovered the bodies of two women from Savar, on the outskirts of the capital yesterday.
In Hemayetpur, the decomposed body of an unidentified woman, aged around 20, was recovered from the field behind the tannery state in Horindhara area. The body, wearing red thee-piece, bore no injury marks, said police.
In Ashulia, the hanging body of Lavli Begum, 30, was recovered from her house in Mollabari area. After the incident her husband remains missing.
Road crashes kill two, injure two

Two people died and two others were injured in Rangpur and Thakurgaon on Friday.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports, Hafizul Islam, 32, of Mulatol area died and his two co-riders were injured when a tractor hit his motorcycle on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Nasirabad area of Pirganj upazila.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent adds Abu Sama, 40, of Kochubari died when a truck collided head-on with a human-hauler on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway in Bhatapara village of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.
Man dies from electrocution in Ctg

A man died after being electrocuted while switching on a motor for extracting water at a shrine in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong yesterday.
The deceased Babul Chowdhury, 42, of Panchlaish area in the city, was the caretaker of the shrine, police said quoting family members.
Locals rushed him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 1:30am.

Shahidullah elected FAOPS president

Prof Mohammod Shahidullah, Pro vice-chancellor (administration) of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujib Medical University, has been elected president of Federation of the Asia and Oceania Perinatal Society (FAOPS) yesterday.
He took the position of David A Ellwood during the 18th congress of FAOPS organised by Bangladesh Perinatal Society at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. He is also Secretary General of Bangladesh Perinatal Society.
