Body left in ZIA luggage identified
The body of the young woman recovered from Zia International Airport was identified as Josna Kabir yesterday at the Dhaka Medical College Morgue.
Police said victim's daughter Dalia identified the body. Josna was wife of Kabir Hossain of Khilkhet in the capital. Kabir is a Bangladeshi expatriate in Malaysia.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of the Airport Police Station Sirajul Islam said Josna might have been killed over previous enmity.
After receiving a cellphone call she went out of her house at around 3:30pm on Thursday and since then she had remained traceless, he added.
Family members of Josna said, following the report of different television channel and dailies they rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Morgue and identified Josna's body.
For the sake of investigation into the murder they declined to talk further.
Earlier, security personnel recovered body of Josna packed in a luggage abandoned at Zia International Airport terminal building-1 on Friday.
Ansar personnel informed the chief security officer of the airport Friday noon that a luggage had been lying on the first floor of the building since early morning, police said.
Later, security men took the luggage to a scanner machine that detected something like a human body in it and later Airport police unpacked it and found the body.
