Int'l children film festival begins in Ctg
A three-day '3rd International Children Film Festival' began in Chittagong yesterday with a slogan 'Moner Anonde Gyaner Sandhane' (in search of knowledge through enjoyment).
Shaheed Jaya (widow of a martyr) Begum Mushtary Shafi inaugurated the festival in front of the Central Shaheed Minar at around 3:30pm.
Children Film Society, Chittagong is organising the festival in association with Fulki, Chittagong, Children's Film Society Bangladesh, Codec and Save the Children UK.
Earlier, a number of children formed a 'Child Friendship Chain' in order to express solidarity with the distressed children who have become victims of poverty, disparity and war across the world.
Resident Editor of the daily Prothom Alo poet Abul Momen hoped, “Watching the films in the festival, our children might be sensitive to feel the sufferings of the distressed children and would take the initiative to eradicate such sufferings in future.”
