3rd anniversary of Kansat movement observed

Third anniversary of Kansat Palli Bidyut Andolon was observed at Kansat in Shibganj upazila in the district yesterday.
At least 18 people were killed and scores injured over a period of about two months as farmers agitated for uninterrupted power supply for irrigation.
Bakul Chowdhury, who organised the movement for smooth power supply, presided over the meeting at Kansat Rajbari ground yesterday. Convenor of Palli Bidyut Unnoyon Sangram Parishad, Golam Rabbani, Shish Mohammad, Setabur Rahman spoke at the meeting.
Eminent jurist Dr Kamal Hossain was supposed to be the chief guest at the meeting but he could not attend it due sudden illness.
