Road crashes kill two in capital

A motorcyclist died and his co-rider was injured after their motorbike hit the barrier of a bridge at Hatirjheel in the capital's Madhubagh area yesterday.
The deceased is Md Shaheen, 30, a trader of Ramna. The identity of the injured could not be known immediately.
Quoting family members, Ramna police said the two fell onto the bridge deck when Shaheen hit the barrier after losing control over the vehicle around 5:00am.
They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Shaheen dead. The injured was shifted to a private hospital, police added.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Ali, a traffic constable, who was injured on Friday as a bus hit him while he was crossing Shahjalal Airport road intersection, died at DMCH yesterday.
