Criminals kill police source

A group of miscreants hacked to death a police source at East Shewrapara in the capital yesterday.
The miscreants thought his tip-offs to the police had led to the arrests of some of them.
Jamaluddin, 32, also worked as a private car driver.
A gang of four to five unidentified criminals snatched him from in front of his house around 7:30am, witnesses said.
Kafrul police recovered his body from a nearby lane and sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
Morgue sources said the body had nine stab wounds.
Officer-in-Charge Kazi Wazed Ali of Kafrul Police Station told The Daily Star that the victim was an informer for his police station.
A group of local criminals had been threatening Jamaluddin for the last two months but he never informed the police about it, said the second of his two wives.
The leader of the criminals is known as Bachchu, said police.
