Defending champions Rangamati got off to a winning start in the First Security Islami Bank 2nd Tribal Hockey Competition, with a 4-1 win over Panchagar at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium yesterday.
Shuvo Chakma scored twice while Bijoy Marma and Shafiullah Nipu netted one goal each for the winners. Sunil Hasda reduced the margin for the losing side.
Earlier, Bangladesh Hockey Federation vice president Abdus Sadek inaugurated the competition.
CJKS Athletics
4H Group CJKS Athletics competition kicks off today at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.
Organised by the Chittagong District Sports Association, a total of 217 athletes from fifteen schools and eleven sporting clubs of Chittagong will participate in different events of the competition, said organisers at a press conference at the CJKS office yesterday. The competition has a budget of Tk 330,000.
Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Serajul Huq Khan will inaugurate the competition.

After a barren first half, Mohammad Salauddin scored the winning goal for Bangladesh Boys in the 81st minute.
Mohammad Jafar of BG Press was sent off in the 38th minute.

Agrani Bank defeated Victoria Sporting Club 1-0 in the Premier Bank Bangladesh Championship League at the Cox's Bazar Stadium on yesterday.
Agrani Bank striker Mohammad Sanwar scored the all important goal in the 80th minute after the first half ended goalless.
Nadir of Agrani Bank was sent off in the 60th minute.
The win lifts Agrani Bank to second position on the points table with ten points from seven matches.
