Pankaj Saran next Indian envoy

Pankaj Saran is set to become the next Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh as Dhaka endorsed the appointment yesterday, a foreign ministry press release said.
Saran, a career diplomat, is now serving with the Indian Prime Minister's Office.
The envoy is likely to take his office shortly.
Saran, who served at the Indian High Commission as a young diplomat in the late 1980s, will succeed Rajeet Mitter, who left office in November last year.
Saran was the second secretary at Indian High Commission in Dhaka from February 1989 to June 1992 and later promoted to the status of the first secretary.
Born on November 22, 1958, Saran has worked at the Indian missions in Dhaka, Moscow, Washington DC, Cairo and Geneva as well as the India's Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
